![]() ![]() Argonaut were liquidated a long time ago, so the rights to the chip changed a number of times. But Argonaut developed the architecture of the chip and owned the rights to the processor. Nintendo and Argonaut Software (developers of Star Fox SNES) via a joint venture, developed the Super FX chip. The Wii/U emulators are more than capable of running the Super FX, so it's definitely a licensing issue that's preventing games like Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Star Fox from releasing on Nintendo's Virtual Consoles at the moment.
